I drink skim milk, occasionally pay $5 for a specialty cup of coffee and am a loyal consumer of organic vanilla bean granola. Growing up in the suburbs of St. Paul, Minnesota, the only time I stepped foot on a farm was to get lost in a corn maze.

If you have been keeping up with the Global Food Challenge Emerging Leaders, you know that we are seasoned globe trotters. Well, that might be a slight exaggeration but we have experienced many facets of agriculture this summer. From Africa to Washington D.C., we’ve learned a lot of food security.

University of Wisconsin – Madison
Jessica, from Stoughton, Wisconsin, attends the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she is studying agriculture business management and entrepreneurship. She’s has always had a passion for agriculture through her dairy goat project and pumpkin business. She’s involved on campus through the Association of Women in Agriculture and Collegiate Farm Bureau where she shares her excitement for educating others about the agriculture industry. Jessica is mentored by Megan O’Rourke in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.
